The promise of a few hours of potential in an otherwise crappy week gave us the perfect excuse for a dawny. The waves were really funky but the Aviso Cordell Dragster was enjoying the challenge and took me through some nice turns…..

Tsunami threat forces Quicksilver Pro Gold Coast off today – A magnitude 8.8 earthquake struck off the coast off Chile early Saturday morning, resulting in a tsunami warning for the East coast off Australia effective today. Sending heaps of love to all affected. Two million people have been affected by the massive earthquake that struck central Chile on Saturday, President Michelle Bachelet has said. The 8.8 quake – one of the biggest ever – triggered a tsunami that has been sweeping across the Pacific, although waves were not as high as predicted. -

Here is an interesting review I came across the other day about the Lost Round Nose Fish in Aviso Carbon technology from CustomSurfboardShack. “I recently had a chance to try Aviso’s Lost Round Nose Fish. This was truly one of the most interesting boards I’ve laid my eyes on. For those who don’t know, Aviso boards are hollow and comprised of carbon fiber and epoxy. According to Aviso, because the deck is not connected to the bottom, the deck absorbs and stores potential energy thus kinetically propelling the surfer in and out of turns. Read More | Comments

It means a great deal to us when we sell a surfboard. We are extremely passionate surfers ourselves and love everything about it, so we put a great deal of effort into making sure you end up on the best possible boards you can. In doing this we have got some great feedback from our customers and want to share some of this here with you.
We found, back in the day, when we started Surfing Europe the more research material we could find and information on the boards themselves helped a great deal to justify a relatively large layout on a surfboard. It was still hard to spend that much money on a surf board but when you see so much positive feedback coming from people who have taken the chance and invested in one of these carbon fibre wave slayers you begin to appreciate that maybe the initial outlay isn’t quite so bad.
After all, these boards will outlast any other surfboard on the market by far and when you find that magic shape you know you have years together rather than seasons or in some cases, weeks! We hope this new testimonials section will help you in your decision making, it will continue to grow as we get more and more feedback, good or bad it will all go in here, helping you to make the best decision you can.
We welcome all of your support and feedback and would be stoked if you could write a little about your Aviso experiences and email it to us. We would also love to get any pics and videos of you on your Avisos to stick up on the site.
Hope your all getting waves

As surfers I am sure you all know the frustration that sometimes goes hand in hand with looking for waves. I for one am very guilty of looking at a wave and being convinced it will be better at a different tide or just round the corner, so i thought I would put this sequence of photos up for your amusment. This day the charts looked insane and i spent hours looking for a good spot, convinced I would find the waves that were playing through my mind. In retrospect I did find those waves although at the time I thought it would be better at a spot 20mins up the road. I was wrong and I ended up driving for a further hour and surfing windswept dribble. Here’s what I should of surfed…..
